New Home for the Health District—Health and Human Services Building
For 30 years the Holmes County Health District offices and clinic were located next to Pomerene Hospital on Wooster Rd. in Millersburg. However, this year, most of the offices moved. The clinic remains at the former location, and medical visits, vaccines, blood pressure checks, travel clinic visits, and tuberculosis (TB) skin tests will be performed there. The official address is still 931 Wooster Rd., Millersburg.
The remaining public health offices are located at 85 North Grant Street on the third floor. The new location allows for more storage, more office space, and decreased upkeep costs. The services provided at the new location include all of the environmental health services (nuisance complaints, dog bites, licensure or permits for swimming pools, food operations, RV parks, manufactured home parks, campgrounds, tattoo establishments), Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH), Help Me Grow (HMG), School Nursing, Vital statistics (Birth and Death Certificates), Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Breastfeeding support, Public Health Preparedness, Children and Family Health Services, and Communicable Disease Investigation.
